Are there any elements of truth in Sleeping Beauty?
A king might well throw a party for his newborn daughter. Castles can be surrounded by overgrown forests. Of course there wouldnt be fairies, curses, and frozen time. Integrating science and culture with literacy, this book adds funny Truth Time sidebars to a retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Sleeping Beauty, explaining facts about sleep, forests, spindles, and more. Includes discussion of fairy tale traits, fictional vs. real comparison chart, glossary, and book and website resources.
Perfect for young students just learning about fiction and nonfiction and real versus not real, this title supports CCSS standards for reading literature.
