In 1980s Auckland there were many New Zealand Samoan children whose first language was not English and who struggled in mainstream classes. One small community of parents and their local schoolRichmond Road Primary Schoolcreated a Samoan bilingual education vision and brought it to life.

Mua I Malae by Matua Atina`e, Komiti o Tina, explores this unique effort to provide an educational environment where children could thrive by embracing their cultural heritage and language.
